Chicago trucking and transportation entrepreneur Roy Dobrasinovic, who moved to America nearly 30 years ago from eastern Europe, is planning to open a cabaret and nightclub in Bonita Springs.
The spot is named Voulez-Vous Naples. Voulez-Vous in French translates to “do you want?” or “would you like?” in English. Dobrasinovic, in an email response to questions from the Business Observer, declines to disclose the cost of the project. He says he’s called “Florida home for more than 20 years, and I wanted to bring something new to Southwest Florida — a destination where dining and entertainment come together for a complete evening out.”
That includes, Dobrasinovic says in the email, a concept that pairs “fine dining and cocktails with an immersive, approximately three-hour show featuring singers, dancers, aerialists and live music in a spectacular, theatrical setting. We’re bringing the ambition and energy of an international production to our own community, so residents can enjoy the kind of evening they might otherwise travel to Las Vegas, New York or London to experience.”

The spokesperson for the project, in an email, says the opening, initially scheduled for November, has been pushed back to January.
Voulez-Vous Naples is being built in the space, 11515 Bonita Beach Road SE, that was formerly home to the Southwest Florida Event Center. Musicians from Melissa Etheridge to Amy Grant to Toad the Wet Sprocket played gigs at the event center, which closed in May 2020 due to the pandemic. An attempt to reopen it, in early 2022, didn’t come to fruition. Prior to the Southwest Florida Event Center, the facility was a shuttered Eckerd drug store. Southwest Florida entrepreneur Brian Spina spent about $7 million to turn the 20,000-square-foot building into a concert space. Jennifer and Richard Shanahan had taken over the space after Spina.
An LLC connected to Dobrasinovic’s trucking businesses, Compass Management out of Clarendon Hills, Illinois, bought the complex for $2.5 million in December 2023, Lee County property records show. The Shanahans sold the building to Dobrasinovic’s LLCs, according to property records.
In an Oct. 19 announcement, the owners of Voulez-Vous Naples say the concept “brings Mediterranean-inspired cooking, live performances and international DJs together in an evening designed to evolve from one act to the next. Inspired by European cabaret culture, Voulez-Vous treats a night out as an occasion: a reason to dress up, gather with friends and see where the evening leads.”
The experience, the release adds, “unfolds through The Table, The Show and The Night.”

Voulez-Vous Naples, according to the announcement, will include a main dining and performance room for some 350 guests and a lounge for about 170. It is a 21-and-over club, with a dress code described as “elegant with a touch of glamour.” The facility will be open for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate gatherings, launches and VIP occasions, the release states, and partial and full venue buyouts are also planned.
Born in Berane, Montenegro, on the Balkan Peninsula, Dobrasinovic moved to the States, to Akron, Ohio, in 1997, Compass Management’s website says. He worked for a trucking company for one year, then purchased his own truck. Within a year, Dobrasinovic says on his LinkedIn page, he built Compass into a 100-truck operation. At its peak, the business had 250 trucks, and Dobrasinovic says he created Compass Holding, with businesses that handled sales, financing, trailer leases, insurance and factoring for truck drivers.
Asked if there’s been any unexpected challenges in developing Voulez-Vous Naples, Dobrasinovic, in the email, says “this isn’t our first large-scale undertaking, so we came prepared to navigate the complexities involved. Construction delays and scheduling adjustments are never ideal, but they’re part of bringing a project of this scale to life."
