Sarasota builder promotes leader to board of directors, VP post

Magnum Builders of Sarasota recently promoted executive Ralph Abela to the role of vice president and appointed him to the company’s board of directors. 

Abela has been with the commercial construction company since November 2021, according to his LinkedIn profile, most recently as a project manager and estimator. He’s been in the construction industry for more than 25 years and has “experience in project management, business development, client relations and all facets of commercial construction,” a news release states.

He has overseen projects in transportation infrastructure, public facilities and private developments, the release adds. He presently manages the reconstruction of the Venice Theatre Fly Loft. He’s also completed a variety of projects with Charlotte, Sarasota and Manatee county governments, in addition to the Sarasota County School Board and the cities of Sarasota and Venice, the release states.  

“We are delighted to announce Ralph's appointment as Vice President, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to our projects and operations,” Magnum Builders President Michael Baltzer says in the release. “His dedication, leadership and commitment have been instrumental in driving success within our company, and we look forward to his continued growth and achievements in this new role.” 

Magnum Builders was founded in 1983. Sectors it builds in include government, aviation, health care and education.
