Sprouts Farmers Market is going on a growth spurt, nationally and in Florida, and now it needs to hire more employees to keep up with the expansion.

Hiring efforts include staffing a new Fort Myers location, which is scheduled to open July 21 and seeks 80 employees, according to a statement. The store is at 8595 College Parkway.

Sprouts has scheduled an in-person hiring event for the Fort Myers store for from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 7 at the Crowne Plaza Fort Myers, 13051 Bell Tower Drive. Candidates may apply online in advance at Sprouts.com. Walk-in applicants are also welcomed to attend the event, the company says in the statement.

Full- and part-time employment opportunities for the Fort Myers location include:

  • Department managers, assistant department managers and clerks (produce ,vitamins and body care, meat and seafood, deli, grocery, bakery and more)
  • Cashiers
  • Courtesy clerks
  • Backup receiver, administrative coordinator and scan coordinator

Phoenix-based Sprouts, with some 380 locations in 23 states, is also hosting a national hiring event Friday June 9 and Saturday June 10 at all its stores. Specific job openings and opportunities will vary by location, the company says, “but all stores are hiring to be better prepared for summer.” Those interested in positions will have the opportunity to walk in and apply. On-site interviews will be conducted both days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the company says. In addition, applicants can text “Sprouts” to 98199 to schedule an interview.

Sprouts, which says it “welcomes shoppers with a farmer’s market experience” and utilizes an “open layout featuring fresh produce at the center of the store,” is scheduled to open a store in Bradenton June 30. It also recently announced a forthcoming store in downtown Sarasota.
