The Hoffmann Family of Cos., one of the most prolific buyers of businesses in the region, has acquired JED Transportation Group, what it calls the “largest transportation provider in St. Louis metropolitan area.”

Naples-based Hoffmann signed a letter of intent for the deal for JED March 27, according to a statement. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. JED Transportation, focused mostly on corporate, airline crew, sports teams, universities and wedding transportation, was founded in 1967. It has a fleet of over 70 vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, vans, mini-buses, coaches, school buses and limousines, the release adds.

“Aligning the JED Brand with the Hoffmann Family of Cos. is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Chief Managing Member of the JED Cos. Vince Schneider says in the release. “Our associates from JED Transportation, Counts Auto Body, Henry’s Tire & Auto, GEM Transportation and Presidential/Kelly’s Limousine have an incredible future previously unavailable to them.”

The Hoffmann portfolio of companies in the business services sector has other transportation entities, including Mid-American Coaches out of Washington, Missouri; Naples Transportation & Tours; and Palm Beach Tours & Transportation. The business services portfolio, the company says, is “continuously growing with a focus on becoming a $1 billion entity by Q4 2023.”
