NAPLES — A husband-wife restaurant ownership team recently opened their third spot in Naples, and fourth on the west coast of Florida, with Dorona Steakhouse.

The couple, Chef Fabrizo and Ingrid Aielli, already own and operate Sea Salt, a modern-style seafood concept and Barbatella, a regional Italian-themed restaurant. Both of those locations are on Third Street South in Naples. The Aiellis also operate a second Sea Salt in St. Petersburg.

The Dorona, at 2110 Ninth St. North, is on the site of the former Midtown Kitchen + Bar, which closed after operating 13 months, according to a statement. A TGI Fridays had been on the site for over 20 years, the statement adds. The Dorona theme is a modern and upscale Italian steakhouse.

Naples-based Clive Daniel Hospitality, the commercial interior design division of Clive Daniel Home, oversaw the interior design work for the Dorona. The restaurant showcases natural material like wood with industrial elements like steel and aluminum structures.

The custom banquettes have a soft touch and neutral color to blend without competing with other colors, according to the release. The Clive Daniel Hospitality team also designed a custom upholstered panel using an existing steel frame, to divide the bar space from the dining area near the windows, the release adds, resulting in sound control and absorption.

“We wanted a more modern, vibrant design from traditional Italian steakhouses,” Fabrizo Aielli says in the statement, “so we reached out to the design team at Clive Daniel Hospitality to implement our concept. They helped create a totally new ambiance in a casual atmosphere with unique custom elements. We are extremely pleased with the results.”
