FORT MYERS — Star UFC champion and mixed martial artist Yoel Romero has endorsed Dioxyme, a Fort Myers-based manufacturer of physician-formulated supplements that maximize athletic performance.
Terms of the endorsement dear weren't disclosed.
The endorsement, according to a statement, comes less than two weeks before Romero's UFC 213 title fight against Robert Whittaker, scheduled for July 8 in Las Vegas.
Onetime professional hockey player and former junior Everblade Bennett Schneider and his father, Fort Myers plastic surgeon Dr. Marc Schneider, founded Dioxyme in 2014, according to the statement. The pair launched the company after they discovered banned substances or inaccurate amounts of dosing ingredients were preventing supplements from working the first time, the release adds.
The company now collaborates with physicians educated in human physiology, biochemistry and pharmacology, as well as published researchers who work with high-level professional athletes. The group then produces amino acid, protein and Omega-3 supplements that don't contain fillers, proprietary blends, unproven ingredients, GMOs, gluten, soy, rBGH/antibiotics or banned substances, according to the statement.
“Nutritional science shows that ideal ingredients at clinical dosages produce the results that athletes in every sport desire,” says Bennett Schneider, CEO and president of the company, in the release.
In addition to Romero other Dioxyme endorsers include Victor Green, retired safety for the New York Jets; Richie Ryan, midfielder for Miami FC; and Laurent Ciman, defender for the Montreal Impact.
