SARASOTA — The editors at Roofing Contractor recently announced a Sarasota-based company as the 2021 Commercial Roofing Contractor of the Year.
The leading independent publication in the roofing industry named Sutter Roofing Company the recipient of the award with it’s 120-year legacy of innovation, according to a press release. Sutter was chosen among companies from across the U.S. This is the industry’s most recognized award, press release adds.
Sutter’s commitment to excellence as well as the company’s unwavering support to the communities they serve also contributed to the award, the magazine says.
“It’s a tremendous testament to our long-term employees and everybody that works at Sutter Roofing,” says president Doug Sutter in the release. “We couldn’t be prouder to win this award and think we’re very deserving. Our family’s been in the roofing industry for four generations, and this is a capper for us.”
The publication pointed out the company’s ability to safely navigate the pandemic and the current building material supply shortages as another reason why it was the chosen recipient.
“COVID-19 really forced our people to communicate and really look at the ‘why?’ behind things,” says Executive VP Brad Sutter. “We shut offices, we had people with COVID-19, and that were just coming out of it when things opened up, and then our people had to make other adjustments with the material shortage issue. It’s all really forced us to be super-nimble.”
To commemorate receiving this award, the company recently celebrated its employees at its three major branches in Tampa, Orlando and Sarasota. “It takes a team all the way around to have the level of success that we’ve had, and it goes back to our tremendous people,” Doug Sutter says. “This award is for them.”
Sutter Roofing Company is one of the nation’s largest leaders in commercial roofing and sheet metal contracting. The company is headquartered in Sarasota with five other locations in the state.
