Hospital opens new skilled nursing unit

Lee Health’s new 75-bed facility at Gulf Coast Medical Center brings the hospital system’s total of skilled nursing beds to 205.

FORT MYERS — Lee Health has expanded its skilled nursing services by opening a new, free-standing skilled nursing unit at Gulf Coast Medical Center Jan. 2

The newly constructed facility at 13960 Plantation Road in Fort Myers will fill a need in Southwest Florida by creating more capacity for post-acute rehabilitation as patients transition from the hospital and work toward returning home, according to Lee Health officials.
