FORT MYERS — Norman Love Confections, celebrating 20 years in business in 2021, is expanding its packing, fulfillment and warehouse space in Fort Myers.

The chocolatier’s 19,200-square-foot facility will cover four units – two of which were once adjacent spaces occupied by other companies, according to a statement.

The project, to support Norman Love’s current demand and future growth, includes electrical, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC components, the statement adds. The lead contractor, Fort Myers-based Seagate Development Group, is working on refrigeration equipment via demolition, metal framing and drywall, restaurant-kitchen-grade ceilings and the reconfiguration of fire sprinklers, among other details.

Crews will dedicate the last few weeks of the expansion to insulation, drywall, flooring, finishes and inspections, the release states. These factory-style units are projected to be complete next month — ahead of schedule and just in time for the beginning of Norman Love’s Christmas production.

“Norman has such a profound influence on Southwest Florida and many other areas,” Seagate CEO Matt Price says in the release. “We’ll always be proud to help him do business – from the movement of equipment to increased storage space and labor efficiency.

Norman and his wife Mary Love founded Love Confections in 2001. The company creates and distributes handcrafted artisanal chocolates from its corporate headquarters in Fort Myers. It has chocolate salons in Fort Myers, Estero, Naples and Sarasota, as well as a pastry shop and cafe at Whole Foods Market in Fort Myers.

Seagate Development Group is a full-service development company specializing in a design-build process via new construction, custom renovations, interior design and management and leasing services.
