A real estate agency serving multiple counties in the region has merged with two other firms, expanding its footprint along the west coast of Florida.

RE/MAX Alliance Group has merged with RE/MAX Anchor Realty and RE/MAX Affinity Plus. It will now have offices from Spring Hill in Hernando County to Marco Island in Collier County. Officials declined to disclose the terms of the merger but say certain RE/MAX Anchor Realty and RE/MAX Affinity offices are now RE/MAX Alliance Group offices.

In total, RE/MAX Alliance Group will have 15 offices, up from 11 before the merger. It will now have two offices on Marco Island and one each in Punta Gorda and North Port.

“We are thrilled to increase our footprint in these growing markets,” RE/MAX Alliance Group co-owner and broker Peter Crowley says in a statement. "We are committed to bringing our highest level of client service and support to these locations."

In addition to expanding its office presence, RE/MAX Alliance Group will increase its staff by more than 30%.

RE/MAX Alliance Group, which bills itself as the top RE/MAX franchise in Florida for sales transactions and sales volume, has about 300 agents, according to its website. As a result of the merger, more than 100 agents and staff will be added to RE/MAX Alliance, bringing the total personnel over 400, according to the statement.

"The RE/MAX Alliance Group team is pleased to welcome these new agents, and we are fully prepared to support all of their business needs," RE/MAX Alliance Group Co-Owner and Broker Ron Travis says in the statement.

The firms had been in discussions for several years, and when the owner of RE/MAX Anchor Realty and RE/MAX Affinity Plus passed away, “his estate turned to Alliance Group, knowing that there was interest in the past,” a representative for RE/MAX Alliance Group says in an email.

While RE/MAX Alliance Group will gain high-producing staff and a strong management team, officials say the agents joining the firm as a result of the merger will get access to in-house marketing and legal support services.

"I am so excited for the future of the company and joining forces with RE/MAX Alliance Group,” says Becky Dewey, who was managing broker for Anchor and Affinity Plus and is now managing broker for Alliance Group. “We share a similar philosophy toward the business so the transition should be fairly seamless. The added support that will be available to our agents will be a huge advantage. I am looking forward to this transition and watching our agents continue to grow and be the best in the business.”
