CLEARWATER — AmeriLife Group LLC, a leading insurance and retirement solutions distributor and marketer, has acquired a majority stake in Jack Schroeder and Associates LLC (JSA), an insurance marketing company based in Green Bay, Wis.

According to a press release, JSA has been in business for 48 years and specializes in Medicare brokerage. Its chairman and CEO, Brian Schroeder, will maintain a significant ownership stake in the firm. He will also serve as a principal and member of the management team within AmeriLife’s life and health insurance brokerage distribution channel.

Other terms of the deal, including acquisition cost, were not disclosed in the release.

“Jack Schroeder was an icon in the industry,” AmeriLife CEO Scott Perry states in the release. “He passed his knowledge and devotion to serving agents with a ‘get-it-done’ attitude to Brian. Brian, along with the outstanding management team he has assembled, continues to earn the trust and commitment of their agents. We are excited and honored to have the opportunity to support and partner with JSA in this next chapter of their growth and evolution as an industry leader in the Medicare space.”

AmeriLife, headquartered in Clearwater, did around $300 million in sales last year, says Perry, who told the Business Observer the firm is on track to improve that number to $500-$600 million within five years.
