Homebuilder elected to high-ranking state association seat

NAPLES — Ryan Benson, principal with A. Vernon Allen Builder of Naples, has been elected vice-chairman of the Florida Home Builders Association’s Local Presidents’ Council. The council includes the presidents of each of the 22 associations across the state operating under the FHBA umbrella. 

Benson, 37, is president of the Collier Building Industry Association, according to a statement. 

Established in 1949, FHBA is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Florida’s local/regional homebuilder associations. Along with its affiliates, FHBA works to foster the best possible economic and regulatory environment for members to succeed.

Founded In 1951, A. Vernon Allen Builder was among the first homebuilders in the Naples community of Port Royal, and is the largest builder in Port Royal today. Benson and his business partner, Andy Bringardner, completed the acquisition of the firm in 2015 after almost a decade working as managers there.

Benson was a 2017 finalist for the National Association of Home Builders Young Professional Award. He serves on the board of directors of the Florida Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders. Additionally, he is a trustee for Canterbury School, past president of Naples Gulfshore Rotary and vice chairman of the Boys and Girls Club of Collier County.
