NAPLES — Electronic payment giant ACI Worldwide says sales rose 6% in the most recent quarter to $309 million compared with the same quarter one year ago.

ACI's software processes $14 trillion a day for more than 5,000 customers, including some of the largest financial institutions and retailers in the world. The company relocated its headquarters to Naples in 2012 from New York City.

For the quarter ending Dec. 31, ACI reported net income of $43.8 million on revenues of $308.6 million. That compares with net income of $46.4 million on revenues of $290.2 million in the same quarter in 2014. Net income declined because of higher selling expenses, the company says in a statement.

The company says it expects to report sales in 2016 that will reach between $990 million and $1.02 billion. That would represent 4% to 7% year-over-year growth after accounting for acquisitions and foreign-currency fluctuations.

“We look forward to capitalizing on the acceleration in broad market interest we are seeing for our payment solutions in 2016 and beyond,” says Phil Heasley, president and CEO, ACI Worldwide in a statement.
