BRADENTON — Bruce Langsen, a retired Boeing division president, has been elected to the board of trustees of the South Florida Museum.

Unanimously chosen in a special election held Dec. 5, Langsen has more than 30 years experience in the airline industry, with a focus on operations and marketing, according to a release. His last career stop was president of Inventory Locator Services, a Boeing subsidiary and business-to-business e-marketplace with customers in 93 countries. Clients are in the aviation, defense and commercial marine industries.

The South Florida Museum, in downtown Bradenton, is one of the largest natural and cultural history museums on the Gulf Coast. The facility, which recently announced an expansion project and a $12 million capital campaign, includes the Bishop Planetarium Theater and the Parker Manatee Aquarium.

“Bruce's skills are a great fit for the museum at this time of growth,” South Florida Museum CEO Brynne Anne Besio says in the release. “We're thrilled to have him bring his marketing and business acumen to what we're doing and to help take the museum into the future.”
