Allegiant adds Fort Myers, Sarasota, St. Petersburg flights to Michigan

The discount airline is expanding the number of flights to the Midwest city starting early next year.

Allegiant is adding routes across Florida to meet peak spring travel demand.

Allegiant Air is adding a round-trip route to Flint, Michigan, out of Southwest Florida International Airport early next year as it increases the frequency of trips to the Midwest city out of Sarasota and Tampa Bay.

The Las Vegas airline announced Tuesday that it would begin flying to Flint Bishop International Airport out of RSW in Fort Myers Feb. 11.

It is also adding a round-trip route out of Orlando starting Feb. 10.

As for the additional frequency at SRQ and PIE, Allegiant says it will start flying to Flint out of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport Feb. 10 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Mondays; and out of St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport on Thursdays, Sundays and Tuesdays starting Feb. 11.

Allegiant connects small to mid-size cities with leisure destinations. It acquired Sun Country Airlines in May. Through Allegiant Air and Sun Country Airlines, the company serves about 22 million customers annually through passenger, charter and cargo operations. Combined, the airlines offer more than 650 routes serving nearly 175 cities throughout the U.S. and select international destinations. Allegiant posted nearly $2.55 billion in operating revenue in 2025.
