Bonita Springs center lands restaurant, coffee shop chain

A local Mediterranean restaurant and global coffee chain are joining the tenant roster of Midtown at Bonita, the 68-acre mixed-use development under construction in Lee County.

The restaurant is the family owned Alea which will serve Mediterranean dishes “with Greek influences and flavors,” according to a statement. It will also feature an outdoor bar, the first in the development.

The other tenant is the "not as colorful but internationally recognized" Seattle coffee giant Starbucks.

With the two new tenants in place, Midtown has reached about 75% occupancy, with a mix that counts, among others, Airport Donuts, Bonita Beach Wine & Spirits, The Hangry Bison, Jeff’s Bagel Run, LowBrow Pizza, Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls, Mathnasium, TJ Maxx and Ulta Beauty.

Midtown at Bonita is being built on Bonita Beach Road just off Interstate 75. When complete it will include retail, restaurants, residences, fitness and hospitality.

The developer, The Zuckerman Group, says the pedestrian-friendly retail portion of the project will begin to open later this year.

Already open at the development is the Paradiso Bonita Springs, a 400-unit luxury apartment community.
