A new Chewy-branded veterinary clinic is opening in Manatee County. Chewy Vet Care will begin welcoming pets Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 8730 U.S. 301, Unit 103.
Pets can visit the clinic with or without an appointment, with the option of scheduling online. The practice will offer services like vaccinations, wellness exams, urgent care as well as diagnostic testing, surgeries like spaying and neutering and other procedures.
The clinic's design is focused on creating a welcoming environment with warm lighting and soft colors, according to a statement.
Some of the features of Chewy Vet Care locations are a pet portal that provides 24/7 access to health information for pet parents, including prescriptions and medical records, and integration with Chewy’s suite of services, including Chewy Pharmacy.
The Parrish clinic will be the ninth Chewy Vet Care practice to open in Florida. In September, one opened in Lutz, marking the brand's debut on the Gulf Coast. Other Florida locations are in Jacksonville, Coral Springs, Plantation, Delray Beach, Aventura and Boynton Beach.
According to a recent Chewy survey, more than 90% of central Florida pet parents say they visit the veterinarian once a year and 37% say they spend more on their pet’s healthcare than their own.
Online pet retailer Chewy has dual headquarters in Plantation and Boston.
