AdventHealth, the Central Florida faith-based nonprofit healthcare group growing rapidly in the Tampa Bay region, is now one of the 10 largest hospital groups in the country based on revenue, according to a new report.

The report, from industry trade publication Becker's Hospital Review, ranked Altamonte Springs-based AdventHealth No. 10 in the country, with $23 billion in operating revenue in 2025. That includes the March 2025 acquisition of ShorePoint Health in Port Charlotte from Franklin, Tennessee-based publicly traded hospital operator Community Health System. AdventHealth bought that 254-bed hospital for $265 million and renamed it AdventHealth Port Charlotte.

AdventHealth is also expanding in Pasco County, with a new, freestanding emergency room under construction in New Port Richey and a new 35,000-square-foot medical office complex underway in Zephyrhills

AdventHealth has hospitals in nine states, from Colorado to Texas to Wisconsin. Its Florida regions are broken down into east, central and west. The system ranked one spot behind St. Louis-based Ascension on Becker’s list; Ascension had $25.3 billion in 2025 revenue. Mass General Brigham, at $22.8 billion in 2025 revenue, was ranked No. 11. Oakland, California-based Kaiser Permanente, with $127.7 billion in 2025 revenue, was No. 1.

AdventHealth didn’t only get bigger in 2025, Becker’s reports, it also got significantly more profitable. The system reported net income of $4.1 billion in 2025, up 51.85% from $2.7 billion in 2024, the publication states. Its operating income remained the same year-over-year, at an 11.6% margin.

Some other fiscal 2025 metrics from the Becker’s report on AdventHealth, which comes from the organization’s February financial report, include:

  • The operating revenue, at $23 billion, was up 16.16% from $19.8 billion in 2024.
  • Net patient service revenue was $21.4 billion in 2025, up 15.67% from $18.5 billion in 2024.
