Manatee hospital CEO named leader of Indiana health network

Andy Guz, who had been a hospital administrator in Manatee County for a decade, was recently named president and CEO of Columbus Regional Health in South central Indiana.

Guz assumes the role July 1, when he will replace longtime Columbus Regional leader Jim Bickel, according to a statement. CRH operates a 225-bed nonprofit hospital and connected health care network in Columbus, a city of 50,000 people south of Indianapolis. The organization has some 2,600 employees and 200 physicians, according to its website.

Guz was CEO of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center from 2016 to 2024. In September 2024 he was named CEO of Manatee Memorial Hospital in downtown Bradenton. In that role he oversaw a health care network with a 300-bed hospital; freestanding emergency department; imaging centers; physician practices; and home health services.

Both LWRMC and Manatee Memorial are owned by Universal Health Services, a for-profit health care network based outside Philadelphia. 

Guz previously worked in Indiana, as COO of Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw from 2013 to 2014. He grew up in West Virginia
