A new discount store operated by Goodwill Industries-Manasota is opening July 23 in Venice. Called Bargain Barn, the store will provide by-the-pound pricing on clothing, housewares, textiles and other donated goods at 201 Triple Diamond Blvd.

"Every item customers discover here began as a donation from a neighbor in this community,” Donn Githens, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries-Manasota, says in a statement.

In 2025, Goodwill Industries-Manasota Inc. repurposed and recycled more than 100 million pounds of goods, the sale of which helped the nonprofit employ 1,296 individuals.

At Bargain Barn, goods will be kept in bins that are constantly rotated out, featuring items that have not sold in Goodwill stores at deeply discounted prices.

“When they shop the bins, [customers] are supporting job training and employment for individuals working toward financial stability,” Githens says, “and they are helping ensure donated goods continue to serve a purpose.”

The nearly 5,400-square-foot store is located within the Goodwill Triple Diamond Sustainability and Logistics Center, a 54,189-square-foot facility that will serve as a regional distribution hub supporting Goodwill Manasota's retail operations.

Drinkware manufacturer Tervis owned the warehouse until 2023, when Buligo Capital purchased it for $15.35 million, according to Sarasota County property records. Earlier this year, Goodwill Manasota signed a lease for the facility, which is expected to generate 40 jobs, of which 25 have been created so far.

Goodwill Industries-Manasota comprises Goodwill Manasota and Goodwill Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast, serving 11 counties on the east and west coasts of Florida.

Goodwill Manasota spans Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto, Hardee and portions of Lee and northwest Charlotte counties.

It had nearly $147 million in revenue in 2024.
