Punta Gorda Airport has unveiled part of its $44 million terminal expansion project. Six new gates are now open at PGD, numbered seven through 12 in Bailey Terminal, as well as several amenities. More are coming in the months ahead.

With the latest changes, officials say boarding will be more convenient, with aircraft closer to the departure gates. Large windows also provide views of the planes.

New family-friendly amenities were added as part of the expansion, including a mother’s room, family restrooms and an adult changing room. In addition, new restrooms feature baby-changing stations, purse and luggage hooks and in-sink hand dryers, according to a statement.

The terminal has been updated to include more charging stations and space overall, the statement says.

Construction is still underway on the Bailey Terminal expansion, which started in April 2025 and is expected to be complete in May 2027. The project will add 51,800 square feet to the airport’s footprint and also include 22,000 square feet of renovation space, according to PGD.

Coming soon are new departure gates five and six, a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, new TSA checkpoint and new food and beverage concepts, PGD says in a statement. The Wolfgang Puck and TSA checkpoint are expected to come in 2027.

PGD saw a record 2.28 million passengers travel through the airport in 2025. It is served by Allegiant Air and Sun Country.
