American Airlines is now offering daily nonstop flights between Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport and Miami International Airport.
The service between SRQ and MIA began Nov. 3, with the trip lasting a little more than an hour.
Each day, the flights will leave SRQ around 6 a.m. and arrive at MIA shortly after 7 a.m. Return flights will leave MIA after 10:30 p.m. and arrive at SRQ around 10:45 p.m.
The flights between Sarasota and Miami will be operated on a 76-seat Embraer 175 jet, according to a statement. Seating will include first class, main cabin and main cabin extra, which has more legroom and priority boarding.
The Miami flight marks the sixth nonstop destination from SRQ for American Airlines, which also offers service to Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT); Washington, D.C. (DCA); Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas (DFW); Chicago, Illinois (ORD); and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PHL).
“American is pleased to connect Sarasota with our Miami hub,” Jordan Pack, American’s director of domestic network planning, says in a statement. “Miami is our gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, and with this service, customers will be able to connect to more than 60 destinations in the region.”
