A new 257-unit apartment community recently opened in Sarasota County.
The Concord — located off Fruitville Road near Interstate 75 — welcomed its first tenants in March, with construction expected to be complete by the end of June. Floor plans range from one to three bedrooms. Rent starts at $1,859 for a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment.
The apartment community was created by Thompson Thrift, a commercial and multifamily development company headquartered in Indianapolis with offices in Terre Haute, Indiana; Denver Houston and Phoenix. Thompson Thrift held a ribbon-cutting for The Concord June 16.
Each unit features quartz countertops, hardwood-style flooring, stainless steel appliances, a full-size washer and dryer and a patio or balcony. Apartments also come with Alexa-compatible smart home packages. Tenants can opt for private yards and detached garages as well.
Community amenities include a fitness center, swimming pool, dog run, grilling areas, fire pit, pet spa and work-from-home focus suites. A sky deck will also overlook the Celery Fields to the south, according to a statement.
“It’s not just about beautiful finishes or great amenities; it’s about creating a place where people feel truly at home," Thompson Thrift Senior Vice President of Community Management Angie Atkins says in the statement. "Our team is proud to be part of Sarasota’s growth, and we look forward to welcoming even more residents in the months ahead.”
Thompson Thrift has put $6.3 billion into developing ground-up residential and mixed-use communities, according to its website. Founded in 1986, the real estate company has built more than 24,500 units in 23 states.
Other Thompson Thrift-developed multifamily properties in the area include The Stadler in Bradenton, The Hadley in North Port and The Sophia in Venice. On the the commercial side, it also built Cape Coral Commons in Cape Coral.
