After a Sarasota restaurant shuttered, its building has been listed for sale. The property that housed Faicco’s Sandwich Shop at 3590 Webber St. is on the market for $1.1 million.
At the end of May, the owners of Faicco’s closed their restaurant, writing on Facebook that the business was unsustainable.
“Running a small business is not for the faint of heart — and truthfully, there were more than a few days that tested our limits," the owners wrote in the post. "In the end, it just wasn’t sustainable. The love was there, but the business wasn’t.”
After deciding to retire, the owners left behind restaurant equipment that comes with the property, according to the listing, which says these are included: walk-in refrigerator, deli counter, fryers, oven, grill, ice cream chest, refrigerator and draft beer dispenser. The building also contains an office with a copier and shelving.
Equipped with central air conditioning, the property has two wall units for additional cooling, according to the listing, which says it has been outfitted with a new metal roof and new outside shell.
Encompassing 3,390 square feet, the building was constructed in 1966. It was previously home to Webber's Hot Dogs and decades ago was a dental clinic. It is zoned for general commercial use.
The restaurant was last sold in 2022 to Edward Faicco for $750,000, Sarasota County property records show.
Lois Seropian of Coldwell Banker is the listing agent, according to signage posted at the property. Seropian declined to comment for this article.
