Goodwyn Mills Cawood has named Jeff Middlebrook its architectural practice leader at the Tampa office of the engineering and architecture firm.
Middlebrook will support current client relationships while also looking for new opportunities throughout the region, the firm says in a news release.
"The Tampa Bay region and surrounding areas are critical to GMC's expansion plans to continue offering architecture and civil engineering services," says Steve Jernigan, the firm's regional vice president.
Goodwyn Mills Cawood is a Southeast-based architecture and engineering firm with multiple offices in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana and Florida. It designs commercial developments as well as public works such as schools, parks and hospitals.
Middlebrook is a registered architect in 11 states and has nearly 40 years of experience, the firm says. Middlebrook specializes in aviation, sports, commercial, federal, senior living and multifamily residential architecture.
Some facilities he developed were the Joint Armed Forces Reserve Facility in St. Pete, the New York Yankees spring training facility in Tampa, JPMorgan Chase Bank branches throughout Florida and Georgia, and the University of Central Florida's baseball stadium in Orlando.
Middlebrook's design philosophy focuses on client's needs and budget constraints, the firm says.
Goodwyn Mills Cawood expanded into Florida more than a decade ago, the firm says. It has seen large growth within the state in the last five years, now having offices in Tampa, Sarasota, Lutz and Pensacola.
Last year, Goodwyn Mills Cawood's Tampa Bay presence grew significantly when the firm acquired Commercial Site Solutions, a site planning and civil engineering firm that has worked with ALDI, Lowe's, Murphy Oil and more.
Goodwyn Mills Cawood says it is in the middle of several Tampa Bay and Florida projects.
