FORT MYERS — Three Fort Myers firms are collaborating to turn the site of the Atrium building at 8695 College Parkway into the new headquarters of FineMark National Bank & Trust. Stevens Construction and subcontractor Honc Destruction are demolishing the 127,000-square-foot Atrium. Stevens Construction will replace it with the new, 60,000-square-foot FineMark headquarters with design services by Studio+ Architects, according to a statement.
The former shopping mall more recently used as office space has been mostly vacant for several years. FineMark acquired the site for nearly $6 million and is investing $25 million to $30 million into the project.
Demolition will require approximately 45 days, with plans for Honc Destruction to recycle 90% of the materials through its sister company, Honc Recycling. Stevens provided pre-construction services including site selection. Construction of the new building will begin in August with completion scheduled for fall 2020.
