SARSAOTA — Sarasota-based nonprofit JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation hired Andria Bilan as CEO.
Bilan was previously vice president of development at Jewish Family & Children's Service of the Suncoast Inc. for 18 years.
According to a press release, Bilan has more than 40 years of executive nonprofit experience in Pennsylvania and Florida, including with the United Way, YWCA and Jewish Family & Children's Service.
Bilan succeeds the late Bruce Chapnick, who was cofounder and executive director of the organization. He and his wife, Sandi, established JoshProvides in memory of their son, Joshua David, who had epilepsy and died in 2008.
JoshProvides supports people living with seizure disorders by financially helping them with seizure senor alert monitoring equipment, seizure response dogs, medical services, prescription medication and transportation costs as well as offering support groups.
“Helping children and young adults living with epilepsy and supporting their families and caregivers is very personal, as several of my family members have been diagnosed and treated for seizures,” says Bilan in a statement.
