Billionaires like living in Florida.

That's a big takeaway from the latest Annual World's Billionaires List from Forbes magazine. In total there are 2,043 billionaires on the list, with an average net worth of $3.75 billion. One out of 40 billionaires, for a total of 51, are based in Florida. Out of those 51, 14 are based in or connected to businesses on the west coast of Florida. That portion of the list includes:

• Shahid Kahn, $8.7 billion net worth, No.182 on the overall list. Kahn lives in Naples and owns the owns the Jacksonville Jaguars;

• Reinhold Schmieding, $4.4 billion, No. 385. Founded Naples-medical device manufacturer Arthrex;

• Richard Schulze, $3.2 billion, No. 603. Founded electronics chain Best Buy and now lives in Naples;

• Tom Golisano, $3 billion, No. 660. Paychex founder lives in Naples;

• Edward DeBartolo Jr., $2.9 billion, No. 693. Former owner of the San Francisco 49ers, DeBartolo is now a Tampa-based developer;

• Robert Duggan, $2.6 billion, No. 782. A Clearwater resident, he made his fortune in pharmaceuticals;

• Ken Feld, $2.5 billion, No. 814. Feld and family operate Manatee County-based Feld Entertainment;

• Todd Christopher, $ 2.1 billion, No. 973. Christopher, who lives in Clearwater, sold a hair products company to Johnson & Johnson last year for $3.3 billion;

• Ronald Wanek, $2 billion, No. 1030. Wanek, the founder of Ashley Furniture, lives in St. Petersburg;

• Catherine Lozick, $1.8 billion, No. 1161. Lozick's father, Fred Lennon, co-founded valve manufacturer Swagelok. Lozick lives in Naples;

• Carol Jenkins Barnett, $1.7 billion, No. 1,234. Barnett's father is Lakeland-based Publix founder George Jenkins. She owns just less than 5% of the business, according to Forbes;

• William Stone, $1.3 billion, No. 1567. Former KPMG executive, who now lives in Naples, founded financial-software firm SS&C Technologies in 1986;

• Thomas James, $1.1 billion, No. 1795. Recently stepped down as chairman of St. Petersburg-based financial firm Raymond James;

• Howard Jenkins, $1 billion, No. 1940. George Jenkins' son, and former chairman of Publix board.
