Several area companies participated in Red Nose Day 2017, a global charity movement held May 25 to end child poverty. (That might be why you saw random people driving around with red clown noses that day.)
The goal at Sarasota-based S-One Holdings: raise $2,017.
The company bested that goal, and finished the day at $2,735, says an S-One spokeswoman. S-One employees could participate in a bevy of games for Red Nose Day, including Selfie for a Slice, by posting photos and hashtags on social media, such as #rednoseday and #noseson.
“Our team has shown time and again to have a big heart when it comes to giving back, and they're certainly not afraid to be silly with their Red Noses on,” says S-One President and CEO Art Lambert in a statement. S-One, with $140 million in sales in 2016, is the parent company of inkjet printing supplies firm LexJet.
Bradenton-based xByte Technologies, a reseller of Dell hardware and an IT and software services firm, also participated in Red Nose Day 2017.
