LARGO — The National Forensic Science Technology Center has expanded its Largo-based team.

The nonprofit provides training, consulting and technology evaluation to the justice, forensic, science and defense communities. The new employees will assist in the center's chemistry, biology, digital evidence and crime scene training.

Michelle Yang joined the center's scientific team as a forensic chemist. Tylor Barnhart was hired as a biology technologist. Chris Esposito is a new member of the in-house digital forensics team.

Two field service representatives also joined the team — Drew Farkas and Jared Bush. They will be liaisons for military customers at bases in the U.S. and abroad.

The center's newest hire, Christine Goldman, is a certified senior crime scene analyst who will help train civilian and military law enforcement customers. She will also be the lead crime scene subject matter expert for the center's Department of State grant work starting this month.

Shannon Ventator was hired as a translator to assist with Department of State contracts. Ventator has translated online course material, social media messaging and collateral materials to Spanish under a grant to train Central American analysts and investigators.

The Largo office now has 29 employees. Nationally, the center has 32 employees.
