BONITA SPRINGS — Metro Forecasting Models, which provides high-tech population forecasts for developers and others in real estate, named co-founder David Farmer CEO.
Farmer takes over day-to-day operations from firm co-founder Paul Van Buskirk, who will remain chairman, according to a statement. Farmer has nearly 30 years' land development industry experience and is a nationally recognized engineer and city planner. He has extensive experience in real estate development, planning and civil engineering, modeling, and infrastructure design and construction, the release adds.
"I am honored to lead this organization and excited about the tremendous opportunities Metro Forecasting Models has for ongoing success,” Farmer says in the release.
Bonita Springs-based Metro Forecasting employs a team of GIS professionals, a software designer, an economist and a research assistant. The firm's state-of-the-art models have been accurately forecasting future development and have been used by local governments and private industry for more than 35 years.
“I have spent the past five years transferring my knowledge and experience in developing and implementing forecasting models and their applications to David,” Van Buskirk says in the release. “He has the experience and administrative skills to lead our organization to meet the challenges of the future. And, as chairman, I will remain available to support David.”
