One of the top chocolate chefs for Norman Love Confections, Molly Cook, won big at the Pastry Art Live competition held recently in Atlanta.

Cook, according to a release, was named Chocolatier of the Year and also won the People's Choice Award. The competition was held Aug. 20-22. Cook joined Norman Love Confections' Chef Chris Botterman at the competition.

Each competitor produced two different chocolates sold in their shop, according to the statement. Cook's creations included a white chocolate molded piece - banana passion cheesecake, and a hand-dipped piece - almond raspberry made with 49% milk chocolate. Botterman's molded entry was coconut, and his hand-dipped piece was Snickers-inspired, with peanuts and caramel.

“I am extremely proud of the dedication to excellence that Molly and Chris demonstrated in this competition,” Norman Love Confections founder and CEO Norman Love says in the release. “They are both artistic and passionate in their craft, and work tirelessly to be the very best in our industry.”

Cook joins an award-winning club at Norman Love. Chef Justin Fry, for example, won the Pastry Chef of the Year at Paris Gourmet's U.S. Pastry Competition in New York City in March.

Founded in 2001 by Norman and Mary Love, Norman Love Confections has five locations in Southwest Florida.
