Naples home sales rise

NAPLES — Sales of existing single-family homes rose 12% in Naples in May compared with the same month one year ago, but the median price increased just 2%.

Realtors helped sell 468 existing single-family homes in Naples in May and the median price was $255,000, according to data from the Naples Area Board of Realtors. That compares with 417 single-family homes with a median price of $250,000 in May 2011.

While the inventory of single-family homes dropped 13% to 3,113 in May compared with May 2011, the average number of days a home is listed on the market rose 9% to 194 days.

Meanwhile, the number of existing-condo sales in Naples rose 7% to 505 in May compared with the same month a year ago and the median price rose 10% to $200,000.

The inventory of existing condos on the market dropped 13% to 3,566 in May compared to May 2011 and the average days a condo is listed on the market remained steady at 186 days.
