Mulicka abandons race

CAPE CORAL — David Mulicka, the president of Honc Marine Construction in Cape Coral, says he's abandoning his quest for political office.

Mulicka says the demands of his campaign for the Florida House of Representatives were more substantial than he realized. He detailed these challenges in an interview last year with the Business Review.

Besides the demands of running a company, Mulicka says the political campaign was a strain on his family life and impacted his ability to help raise his autistic son. “In order to provide the support and attention he needs, both parents need to be here with him full time,” he says.
