SARASOTA — A new $50 million luxury senior rental community, The Alloro at University Groves, has been proposed for Sarasota.

According to a press release, it will be off University Parkway, just west of The Mall at University Town Center.

It will include 183 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments as well as 10 two-bedroom penthouse suites. There will be three residential buildings above covered parking.

Apartments will have screened-in balconies, kitchens, washers and dryers. They will range in size from 708 to 2,199 square feet. Rent will start at about $1,750, the release adds.

The community will also include a 14,000-square-foot clubhouse with a living room, commercial kitchen with dining programs, dining room, lounge, game room, arts and crafts room, movie theater, fitness center, yoga studio, private dining room and private salon and spa. The campus will have a swimming pool, an outdoor kitchen and fire pit, a pickleball and bocce court, a dog park and several walking paths, according to the release.

A statement says construction will begin in the coming months.
