Three Tampa Bay area banking executives have been appointed by Miami-based regional banking group Banesco USA to take on new leadership roles, the organization announced Wednesday, building on its recent acquisition of an SBA lending business and positioning the bank for regional expansion.

The new executives, the announcement says, are:

  • Teresa Stinson, former executive vice president and executive managing director of Florida corporate banking for Cadence Bank, who was elected to Banesco USA’s board of directors.
  • David Moore, former COO of Bank of Tampa and former president of Lakeland-based Bank of Central Florida, who joins Banesco USA as a senior vice president and Tampa Bay market executive.
  • Henry Gonzalez III, former managing director for local investment bank Hyde Park Capital who was named Banesco’s Hillsborough market executive.

The appointments follow Banesco’s acquisition of a national SBA lending business from St. Petersburg’s BayFirst Financial Corp., the parent company of BayFirst National Bank. Banesco announced the deal’s closing in December 2025, saying it included approximately $95 million in SBA loan balances and a team of more than 50 professionals. The transaction also included servicing rights for the roughly $1.5 billion worth of purchased loans and an agreement to service SBA loans BayFirst retained.

Since then, Banesco has been actively expanding its footprint across the greater Tampa Bay region, the announcement says, hiring additional commercial real estate lenders and bankers and improving its SBA lending capabilities as it prepares to create a new community banking franchise.

Founded in 2006, Banesco USA is an independent Florida state-chartered bank with $5.9 billion in assets as of June 2026, the bank says. It operates six banking centers across Florida and Puerto Rico and has loan and deposit production offices in Palm Beach, Broward and St. Petersburg. Its clients include commercial real estate businesses and small to middle-market companies.
