A growing master-planned community in southwest Bradenton now has its own Publix. The grocer opened a 50,325-square-foot store in the SeaFlower Village Center Oct. 22.

“We’re excited to open our doors at SeaFlower Village Center and welcome customers to their new Publix,” Hannah Herring, Publix media relations manager, says in a statement.

The store features a bakery; deli with more than 150 artisanal cheeses; selection of produce, meat and seafood; sushi chefs; and full-service pharmacy with drive-thru. Publix Liquors is also adjacent to the store.

Publix at SeaFlower Village Center is at 7535 Cortez Road W. in Bradenton. Hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The new grocery store is the anchor for the SeaFlower Village Center, which will also include Club Pilates, Dutch Bros. Coffee, Whataburger, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Playa Bowls, Pecan Jacks and Dave’s Hot Chicken, among other tenants. Publix was the first tenant announced as having signed a lease at the shopping center in September 2024.

Publix has more than 1,400 stores across the Southeast, about 900 of which are in Florida. The company employs more than 260,000 people. Its retail sales in 2025 were $62.7 billion.

SeaFlower is a master-planned community in southwest Bradenton being developed on 1,175 acres previously used as a flower farm. When built out, it will include 4,000 homes; 600 apartments; 250 hotel rooms; and 350,000 square feet of office and retail space. Its first phase spans about 400 acres south of Cortez Road and west of 75th Street West and features homes, parks, trails and green spaces; the resident-only Garden Club amenity; and SeaFlower Village Center.
