180-employee Manatee HVAC, plumbing company names new CEO

A Manatee County heating, air-conditioning and plumbing company that serves multiple counties around the region has a new CEO. Arctic Air Home Services has named Michael Hoelle, who had been the company’s COO since 2021, as its new leader. Former CEO and company co-founder Scott Whitaker will transition to executive chairman of the board at parent company Arctic Air Holdings, according to a statement.

As COO at Arctic Air Home Services, Hoelle helped build operational infrastructure for the business, from financial planning systems to customer service programs.

In his new role, Hoelle will focus on entering new geographic markets and identifying local opportunities, strengthening company culture and the team, ensuring infrastructure is in place to support growth and positioning the company for the long term.

“My focus is to grow thoughtfully, invest in the people who make this company what it is, and build the systems that let us keep every promise to our customers as we expand,” Hoelle says in the statement.

Arctic Air Home Services has more than 180 employees who assist clients across Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte and Lee counties. The company was established in 2008 as an HVAC business, then expanded to plumbing in 2015. It became part of Arctic Air Holdings in 2024.

As executive chairman of the board for Arctic Air Holdings, Whitaker will offer strategic guidance and lead new acquisitions, the release states. “This is a natural evolution as we grow into new markets,” Whitaker says in the statement.

Arctic Air Holdings, which is headquartered in Manatee County, owns five companies: Arctic Air Home Services; Graham Heating & Air Conditioning, based in Largo; Spectrum Air Conditioning & Refrigeration in North Fort Myers; Sarasota-based Bolt Electric; and Sean McCutcheon’s Air Conditioning and Heating in Sarasota.
