A south Sarasota County business is reducing its workforce. ACL Roofing, also known as Anthony C. Leonard Enterprises, is laying off 65 employees in Englewood, according to a letter filed with the state as required by the Workforce Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.

The layoffs come “due to a corporate reorganization,” ACL Roofing Interim CFO Ashlee Sage writes in the WARN letter.

Workers will be let go July 14, the letter says. Among those who will be impacted are 63 field crew members and two field crew supervisors. Some of the employees work remotely but report into the office at 99. S. McCall Road in Englewood. There are no applicable bumping rights, and none of the employees is represented by a union.

WARN letters are required to be filed by companies that have at least 100 employees. They must give 60 days’ notice of plant closings or mass layoffs. The WARN letter from ACL Roofing is dated May 15.
