$12B Tampa mining company promotes leader to VP role

Chris Hagemo has been with The Mosaic Co. for more than 20 years.

Chris Hagemo, a 23-year leader at The Mosaic Co., a $12 billion Tampa-based global fertilizer producer, has been promoted to vice president of global operations, strategy and operational excellence.   

Hagemo began his career as a USF engineering co-op student, the company says. He now will lead global operations strategy, advance key operational priorities and support long-term transformation efforts at Mosaic, a Fortune 500 firm. He has previously held senior roles at the company in engineering, operations, international joint ventures and digital transformation.

Hagemo has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from USF and earned an MBA from MIT. He’s been serving in the vice president role on an interim basis since December, the company says. A Tampa Bay resident, Hagemo has been a board member of Feeding Tampa Bay since 2019, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The Mosaic Co. is a leading producer and marketer of potash and phosphate fertilizer for farmers worldwide. Through its Mosaic Biosciences platform, the company says it’s advancing the next generation of biological solutions designed to improve nutrient use efficiency, strengthen crop performance and support more sustainable agricultural systems. It has 13,000 employees serving customers in more than 40 countries. It posted $12.05 billion in revenue in 2025.
