Sarasota mattress manufacturer expands to meet niche demand

A Sarasota mattress manufacturer has grown its operational capacity to meet an increasing demand, particularly for recreational vehicle and marine mattresses.

Unlimited Comfort Mattress Factory reports it has had a 40% increase in orders over the last year, especially for mattresses designed to go in RVs and boats.

Located at 4051 Clark Road, the facility recently enhanced its production capabilities to address this niche market.

"We have invested in additional manufacturing equipment and expanded our production team to address the growing demand for locally manufactured sleep products," a spokesperson for Unlimited Comfort Mattress Factory says in a statement. "The expansion allows us to maintain our handcrafted approach while increasing our capacity to serve customers from Naples to Bradenton."

There are now production lines dedicated to mattresses for RVs and boats that address specific dimensional requirements for mobile living spaces, according to a statement. 

Traditionally, boaters and road-trippers have been sleeping on "stock" mattresses that are often thin, flimsy and uncomfortable, which come with their chosen vessels or vehicles, according to the Sarasota manufacturer's website. As an alternative, Unlimited Comfort Mattress Factory says it can build a custom mattress to the exact template of a boat's berth, including handling any rounded corners and odd angles. It also says it specializes in the unique dimensions required for campers, travel trailers and luxury motorcoaches, which often require "short queens" or custom dimensions to fit into slide-outs. 

"The ability to manufacture custom dimensions sets regional producers apart in the current market," the Unlimited Comfort Mattress Factory spokesperson says in the statement. "Our expansion positions us to meet both standard residential needs and the specialized requirements of the RV and marine communities throughout Florida."

A vertically integrated manufacturer, Unlimited Comfort Mattress Factory controls production from raw materials until final delivery. It also operates a showroom where each mattress model is on display.
