Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice has been awarded a $250,000 grant to help prevent evictions and homelessness across the region.

The money is from the TD Charitable Foundation, through its 2026 Housing for Everyone program.

According to the Diocese, $189,160 of the money will provide emergency rental assistance to prevent eviction filings. The remaining $60,840 will go toward a dedicated case manager to work on intensive case management, landlord negotiations and service navigation.

The Diocese says it will contribute $278,360 in in-kind support, including a case manager, wraparound services and program operations.

In all, the grant is expected to assist 189 moderate- to low-income families — more than 500 individuals, including about 225 children — across Lee, Collier, Sarasota, and Manatee counties.
