The Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport served a record number of travelers in 2025. Last year, the airport welcomed more than 4.5 million passengers, according to a statement from SRQ.

In 2024, SRQ reported having 4,245,686 passengers, a decline from 4.3 million the previous year, which officials attributed in part to Hurricane Milton; in 2025, the number of SRQ passengers climbed to 4,514,781, representing a 6.34% year-over-year increase.

“Surpassing 4.5 million passengers in 2025 is an important milestone and reflects strong demand for affordable and reliable air service,” President and CEO of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport Paul Hoback says in a statement.

The increase in passengers comes amid transformations at the airport. In January 2025, SRQ opened a new terminal with five gates leased by Allegiant Air. The airline proceeded to add eight flights over the next few months. Through the spring and summer, food and beverage options were added to the existing Concourse B, including Huey Magoo's, Mattison's, The Salty Key and Salt & Tide bar.

Then in October, SRQ welcomed Hoback as its new CEO and president following the retirement of his predecessor. While Hoback described the airport as “almost paradise” in a December Business Observer article, he noted his future plans include updates to the parking and rental car center, which have not kept up with demand as passenger traffic has increased.

“We remain focused,” Hoback says in a statement, “on supporting our airline partners, enhancing the passenger experience and meeting the long-term needs of our community and region.”
