National diagnostic imaging company RadNet has acquired Radiology Regional, a division of LucidHealth serving Southwest Florida.
Based in Fort Myers, Radiology Regional has 13 locations providing outpatient diagnostic imaging services in Naples, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Port Charlotte and Sarasota. RadNet is based in California and had more than $1.8 billion in revenue in 2024.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
For more than 50 years, Radiology Regional has provided MRI, CT, PET/CT, mammography, ultrasound and X-ray procedures. The acquisition is expected to add about 400 employees and 44 contracted radiologists to RadNet’s Florida network, which already includes five locations in Southeast Florida.
“As Florida’s population grows and ages, demand for advanced imaging services is accelerating,” RadNet President and CEO of Eastern Operations Steve Forthuber says in a statement. “Through our clinical excellence, operations expertise and AI-powered digital health solutions, RadNet intends to bring accessible and affordable leading-edge patient care, population health screening programs and a focus on early detection of disease to the communities of Southwest Florida.”
RadNet plans to use AI-powered programs to increase accuracy, streamline processes and improve patient experiences at its newly acquired Florida centers, according to a statement.
Joining RadNet “allows us to accelerate our mission — providing Southwest Florida with the highest-quality diagnostic imaging services — by gaining access to clinically validated AI technologies and operational resources that will directly benefit our patients, our radiologists and our entire care team,” Dr. Darius Biskup, practice president at Radiology Regional, says in the statement.
The acquisition is projected to add about $100 million in revenue to RadNet in 2026, the statement says.
RadNet, headquartered in Los Angeles, has more than 400 imaging centers in Maryland, Delaware, New York, New Jersey, California, Arizona, Texas and Florida. The company bills itself as the largest operator of freestanding, fixed-site outpatient diagnostic imaging service centers in the United States, based on the number of centers and revenue. In 2024, RadNet (Nasdaq: RDNT) posted nearly $1.83 billion in revenue.
