A Miami-based restaurant chain with more than 40 locations now has two in the Sarasota area. Pura Vida Miami recently opened a restaurant at The Landings, after making its debut on Florida’s west coast at University Town Center in 2024.

“Opening a second location in Sarasota allows us to further integrate into a community that has already welcomed us so warmly,” Pura Vida Miami co-founder Omer Horev says in a statement.

The 3,400-square-foot eatery along US 41 was built from the ground up on an outparcel at The Landings shopping center following the demolition of Sweet Tomatoes.

At 4994 S. Tamiami Trail, Unit 100, the restaurant features a menu with acai bowls, salads, all-day breakfast, smoothies, juices, wraps, sandwiches, protein bowls and other dishes.

The restaurant focuses on fruits, vegetables and proteins.

Omer Horev and his wife, Jennifer, founded Pura Vida Miami “grounded in the belief that what we eat and how we gather matter,” with a menu focused on “clean cooking” that does not incorporate seed oil, according to a statement. Since it was established in 2012, the brand has grown to include locations across Florida, New York and California.

At the new Landings restaurant, both indoor and outdoor seating are available.

“Each café is designed to feel like an extension of the neighborhood it serves — a place people can rely on daily, connect with others and enjoy food made with consistency and care,” Omer Horev says. “The Landings represents that philosophy, and we’re excited to continue growing alongside the Sarasota community.”

Pura Vida Miami is open daily at The Landings from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
