A new shop for dogs has opened in north Manatee County. DogPerfect recently began welcoming four-legged customers and their people to its new store at 11667 Moccasin Wallow Road in Parrish.

Located near the master-planned community of North River Ranch, DogPerfect sells curated nutrition and enrichment products and offers professional grooming services. There is also a self-service dog wash area.

Linda and Rob Emery are the owners of the store.

“Parrish is a fast-growing community filled with families who truly care about their pets,” Linda Emery says in a statement. “I’m excited to bring this level of personalized guidance and premium products to local pet parents and to build strong relationships within the community.”

DogPerfect in Parrish is the fifth location for the chain, which recently began franchising.

Parent company DogPerfect Franchising owns and operates four established locations in Sarasota and Manatee counties — in University Park, Lakewood Ranch, The Landings and Southside Village. The Parrish store is the first locally owned franchise in the system.

Rob Emery, who co-founded DogPerfect and DogPerfect Franchising, helped open the first DogPerfect store in Lakewood Ranch in February 2019.

"After years of building and refining our model in our corporate stores, Linda and I are excited to bring DogPerfect to the Parrish community," he says in a statement. "With our move into franchising, our focus remains on delivering premium nutrition, expert guidance and a phenomenal store experience — only now we will be able to do that in even more communities.”

Driving the expansion are established supplier partnerships, sustained consumer demand, refined systems and multiple revenue streams, according to a statement. Through the franchise model, partners will receive site selection and buildout guidance, operational training, curated product sourcing, marketing support and ongoing business coaching. According to a statement, the DogPerfect model combines retail, professional grooming and self-service wash stations to create “diversified and recurring revenue within a single location."
