A South Tampa home belonging to Penny Vinik has sold for $19.14 million, a near record amount in Hillsborough County, according to the real estate firm that brokered the sale.

The 14,919-square-foot house is at 914 S. Gulf View St. and sits on 400 feet of the Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club’s golf course in one of Tampa’s ritziest neighborhoods.

The buyer was not disclosed and a deed for the sale has not yet posted.

Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, which listed the house, says in a statement that the sale is second-highest priced residential transaction in Hillsborough’s history.

According to Multiple Listing Service data provided by the firm, the only house to sell for more money was Derek Jeter’s former home at 58 Bahama Circle on Davis Island. The mansion (which Tom Brady rented for a time) sold for $22.51 million in 2021.

Jeff and Penny Vinik, who have since divorced, first bought the home in 2010, paying $3.2 million for it. This was the same year the hedge fund billionaire paid $170 million to buy the Tampa Bay Lightning.

According to Hillsborough property records, Jeff Vinik signed the Tampa house over to Penny Vinik April 30, 2025.

The house went on the market in September and was listed at $19.8 million.

The house itself has 9 bedrooms and 10 full baths and the property includes a detached guest house and an additional vacant lot.

Among its features are 15-foot ceilings, a 600-plus bottle wine cellar and a 48-foot-long, heated saltwater pool and spa.

Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s Paul DeSantis represented Vinik.
