An Atlanta roofing firm has acquired Springer-Peterson Roofing & Sheet Metal, a family-run Lakeland business founded in 1981.

Roofing Corp. of America is the new owner of Springer-Peterson, according to a statement. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Roofing Corp. of America has been growing of late in Florida. That includes buying Fort Myers-based Crowther Roofing & Cooling in June 2024, when the firm was doing $176.43 million a year in revenue. RCA also owns Hamilton Roofing and Dynamic National in Florida, and the Springer-Peterson transaction is its 15th overall purchase since it was founded in 2020. “S-P’s central Florida market presence fits beautifully within RCA’s already leading position across the state,” says Roofing Corp of America CEO Randy Korach in the statement.

Springer-Peterson will operate as a stand-alone entity within Roofing Corp of America, the release states, “partnering closely with our Crowther Roofing and our other businesses across Florida.” Crowther Roofing & Cooling CEO Lee Crowther, who is also the Florida Regional President for RCA, will work with Springer-Peterson Board Chairman Rob Springer, whose father, Don Springer, founded the business in 1981 with Brooke Peterson.

“When I finally arrived at the difficult decision to sell our multi-generation family business, Roofing Corp of America was the obvious choice,” Rob Springer says in the statement. “Their vision for growth and expansion in true partnership with the founders and team members of their acquired businesses resonated with us.”

RCA delivers a wide range of roofing services to building owners, property and facility managers, homeowners’ associations and general contractors. It’s a subsidiary of Toronto based FirstService Corp., a publicly traded firm, traded on the Nasdaq and Toronto Stock Exchange, that provides essential property services to a wide range of commercial and residential clients.
