Harry Sandwith, a New Jersey car detailing entrepreneur known for a colorful history and mingling with celebrities — he cleaned and took care of motorcycles for actor Keanu Reeves, for one — is expanding his business to Southwest Florida.

The expansion is through Dirty Harry’s & The Hogfather, which Sandwith recently opened in Cape Coral, according to a statement. The store will service all of Lee and Charlotte counties with high-end automotive and motorcycle detailing services, the statement adds.

Sandwith started the business after working as a police officer in Jersey City. He started by detailing and taking care of cars, boats and anything with a motor, according to a 2017 story in Auto Laundry News, but soon became an “in-demand motorcycle-detailing expert.” He later appeared at various venues as a celebrity detailer for Flex North America Buffers, the release states, and has been a partner and trainer for Detailing Success satellite locations in New Jersey.

More details: Sandwith has been a featured demo detailer at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) annual exhibition in Las Vegas and is a founding member of the “Detail Mafia,” which bills itself as an online forum and network of professionals and experts who work in auto detailing, paint correction and ceramic coating installation.

Sandwith, the release states, left the New Jersey operations to his daughter Gina who will be assisted by his son, Joseph; both are also Jersey City police sergeants.
