Orlando-based Cogent Bank has surpassed $500 million in assets in Southwest Florida, five years after entering the market.

The bank’s branches, one each in Fort Myers and Naples, have contributed to more than 4,000 new accounts and facilitated over $300 million in loan closings, according to a statement. The first branch opened in Fort Myers in 2020 and a Naples center followed in 2023, and now the centers have a combined 20 or so employees. The bank also opened an office in downtown Bradenton this summer, and has full-service banking centers in Clearwater and Tampa, as well as a loan production residential lending office in Sarasota.

“Crossing the $500 million milestone is a tremendous accomplishment for our team and shows the demand that Southwest Florida businesses and consumers have for a sophisticated local bank,” Cogent Executive Vice President and Market President, Brandon Box says in the release. “This accomplishment underscores the trust our clients place in us and reflects our commitment to delivering forward-thinking financial solutions with the personalized service our communities deserve.”
